Twitter @fem_ideasThe FemIDEAS team is delighted to announce this event featuring a panel of experts from research, practice, and activism to explore the topic of sexual harassment and gender-based violence (SHGBV) in higher education institutions (HEIs) in South Africa, against the backdrop of the broader African context. This event will also mark the launch of the FemIDEAS website. This conversation is the first in a series of panels that will be hosted by the project, aiming to start global dialogue on SGBVH in HEIs
Panelists include:
- Gorata Chengeta – Student activist against SGBV in South African HEIs
- Prof Malehoko Tshoaedi- Associate Professor, University of Johannesburg; member of the ministerial task team on gender-based violence at universities in South Africa
- Furaha-Joy Sekai Saungweme – Regional Coordinator of the African End Sexual Harassment Initiative (AESHI)
- Joel Quirk – Professor of politics and co-chair of the Gender Equity Advisory Committee (GEAC) at the University of Witwatersrand
